Targets: Ideally, fasting glucose should be below 7 mmol/L. Two hours after a meal should be under 8.5. Note that these are targets for type 2 diabetics. They are above the expected range for healthy people. So the tighter target is just that: actually healthy levels. This would mean staying in the 4.0 - 7.8 range, with fasting sugars of 5.x.
